Welcome to the the part of my site where you can read about some of the interesting cases that I have treated over the past 10 years. They are not presented in great detail as the purpose of this page is to give you an idea of the variety of conditions that can be successfully treated with acupuncture. Please check back soon, as this page is updated periodically.
Poison Ivy Thirty year old male presented with an acute case of poison ivy with lesions on his face and lips. The sores were very painful and he was unable to open his mouth to eat. He wasn’t comfortable with having needles inserted so at this time I only performed a symptomatic treatment. This involved pricking four acupuncture points, two of which were along the channel affected and the other two are known for there effect on skin conditions. I removed approximately 15 to 20 drops of blood from each point and told him to I would check on him later in the day. About 3 hours after the treament the swelling had reduced considerably and later that evening all that remained were the scabs from the lesions. He was able to resume eating at this time.
Mononucleosis Female, 17 yrs., presented with sore throat, no appetite, extremely fatigued. Diagnosis was a kidney deficiency with a spleen excess. The complete treatment was performed with toyohari techniques (no needle insertion) to balance her energy. She left the office feeling a bit better and returned a few days later for a follow-up treatment. She had improved approximately 85-90% from the first visit. A similar treatment was performed and she resumed her normal school and sport activities with no further signs of illness.
I have treated a number of similar cases and no patient has needed more than 2 treatments for a complete cure. They are usually 80 to 85 percent better after the first treatment.
Multiple Sclerosis Female, 36 yrs., presented with onset of multiple sclerosis (MS) two months prior. Her main complaints were fatigue, and vision distubance in her left eye due to a lesion on her optic nerve. She had very limited vision in her left eye and could not see colors. After approximately 10 treaments her vision improved greatly and an MRI indicated that the lesion was no longer present. Her fatigue also improved greatly allowing her to resume her exercises. This patient has maintained an ongoing treatment regimen to continue her improvement with movement and energy, and to maintain her vision.
Whiplash Male, 62 yrs., presented with whiplash and acute neck pain from an auto accident two weeks prior. He had received a couple of chiropractic treatments with little relief before coming to my office. After his intial treatment he was 98% better and no follow-up treatment was necessary.
Back Pain/Achilles Tendonitis Female, 56 yrs., presented with chronic low-back pain and inflamation in her heels and tendons. In acupuncture, the kidneys govern the low back and are the yin partner to the yang bladder channel. These 2 meridians pass along the heel and Achilles tendon, the kidney on the medial side and the bladder on the lateral side. I tonified this patient’s kidney energy and performed local treatment to her back, heels and tendons. She reported improvement after the first treatment and by the third treatment the inflammation in her Achilles region was gone and she had no discomfort. Her back was also pain free at this time. She did continue maintenance treatments on a monthly basis to stay healthy and be able to continue her very active life-style.
